The Board met for the thirty-nineth time on the 13th of June 2024 in Jabiru. A majority of the Board participated either in person or via Teams and was assisted by CEO Dr Emma Young, Governance and Leasing Officer Jessica Wright, minute taker Maxine Campbell and interpreter Dr Murray Garde. Apologies were received from Nida Mangarnbarr and Shanice Mudjandi. The Board met with Andrew Walsh, CEO of West Arnhem Regional Council and Fiona Ainsworth, also from WARC. A discussion followed on WARC’s housing needs in Jabiru and the future of the dog impound. The Board agreed to vary the sublease over Lot 2100 to allow for the dog impound to be located there for another year. The Board welcomed the news that WARC had received funding from Rio to install lights at Brockman Oval. The Board agreed to issue a short-term sublease to Jabiru Golf Club. The Board received an update on the design of the Bininj Resource Centre, endorsed the design and urged the NTG to fund the fitout and proposed artworks of the BRC. The Board also agreed to delegate approval of future NBN connection works to GACJT’s CEO.
